Piecemakers offers three types of classes for its members!
Monday School: During our regular meetings on the 1st and 3rd Mondays, Piecemakers Barb and Sandie have organized a line up of member-led demos, make and takes, and mini classes for member education. The classes are free to view to all members. An optional small fee may apply for those interested in pre-packaged kit when available or photocopy fees of Monday School notes. Internal Classes: These type of classes are taught by a member and are held outside of the monthly meetings. Members pay a small fee to take the class. Professional Instructor Classes: Classes are taught by a hired professional instructor and held outside of monthly meetings. Fees for professional instructors will vary. Check with Education Chair for more info! |

June 1 - Paper Piecing Class with Patty 12:30 - 3:30 at the Fruitdale Grange Has Paper Piecing always been a bit of a mystery or confused you? Now is your chance to take advantage of this class being offered by our member Patty. |

July 16, 23, 30, and Aug 27 - Basic Beginning Quilt Class with Brenda from 9-noon at the Fruitdale Grange This basic beginning quilt class is geared to new quilters. This class will include information about fabric (value and contrast), how to accurately measure and cut using quilter’s rulers, rotary cutter, and mat board. New quilters will learn about piecing with a 1/4” seam allowance and pressing seams/fabric. We will be making a Churn Dash Wall hanging Top (24.5 x 24.5) that includes the Churn Dash Block and Rail Sashing/Border. Also covered is quilting, binding, putting on a sleeve and label. This class is intended to be a prerequisite to the Beginning Sampler Class which will follow if there is enough interest. |

August 3 - Flange Binding Class with Cheryl 1:00 - 3:00 at the Fruitdale Grange I have to admit – I didn’t know what “flange binding” is for the Aug class so I had to look it up. So, for others who might also be in the dark about this; flanged binding is an additional narrow strip of fabric between the quilt and its binding for an extra pop or color and texture. Nifty! |

A special treat!!! September 21 - Pat Durbin Trunk Show 10:00 am at the Fruitdale Grange and a two-day class... September 22 (8:30 - 3:00) and 23 (10-3) - Pat Durbin Mosaic Redwoods Landscape Class at the Fruitdale Grange Pat Durbin is an award-winning quilt artist who uses unique textiles techniques to create quilts from photos. Pat has had her quilts featured in quilt museums, has won numerous quilt awards, and is author of five quilting books. Since 2005, Pat Durbin has been making art quilts that resemble paintings. She find this to be filled with challenges and rewards. Pat has sewn clothes since childhood but now spends most of her sewing time making quilted art. Using photography as inspiration and various techniques, Pat makes quilted fine art scenes. Her style is to quilt my art on her home sewing machine. She has done portraits as well as many landscapes |
