Starry, Starry Night - Current Opportunity Quilt - Drawing to be held Sept. 5, 2016.
...
Each year the Rogue Valley Piecemakers create an Opportunity Quilt, and offer an "opportunity" to win it by raffle . All proceeds from raffle tickets are donated to a local non-profit organization to help our community. This year the members voted to benefit two organizations that will share the benefits from these donations. They are the Women's Crisis Center and Josephine County Search and Rescue. There are many hours spent by all the members of our group. "Starlets" were paper pieced by all members. The Opportunity Quilt Committee, Barbara, Yvonne, Ardis, Sandie, and Brenda, together completed the diamond block piecing, and sawtooth inner border. The original pattern was designed by Karen Stone, titled "ULS 2". The committee decided it should have another border and designed, drafted and sewed, creating a unique "flying geese" border. The quilt measures 86" x 86". Erica provided the quilting services and Kathy created our label.
Tickets are currently on sale - $1 each or 6 for $5 The drawing will be held September 5, 2016. Proceeds will be donated to the Women's Crisis Center and the Josephine County Search and Rescue. All members of our group have tickets for sale, or you can use the contact us with your request to purchase tickets and we will get in touch with you. Thank you for your support!
