UPDATE: May 11, 2019 We would like to congratulate Erin Lawrence of Southern Oregon as the winner of the "Wild Poppies" Opportunity Quilt.
Each year the Rogue Valley Piecemakers creates an Opportunity Quilt and offers an "Opportunity" to win it by raffle. All proceeds from raffle tickets are donated to a local non-profit organization to help our community. This year the members voted to benefit two organizations that will share the benefits from these donations. They are the Women's Crisis Center andJoe's Place.
Our 2019 Opportunity Quilt inspiration came from a book, "Positively Pineapple, Quilts for the Pineapple Ruler and More!" by Lynda Milligan and Nancy Smith. When discovering this book, Carol B. thought it would make a great Opportunity Quilt! A team was formed and a quilt was made. Changes from the original design were enlarging the size by adding additional vertical rows and additional blocks for length. A different palette of colors were also chosen. Our Opportunity Quilt Committee team included Carol B, Ardis, Sandie, Brenda, Yvonne, and Kathy B, A special thank you to Sue Q. whom has offered to be our “Quilt Mom” and organize ticket sales and raffle ticket events.
We are so grateful to Jordan’s Fabrics for donating ALL the fabric and Carol Bryant for donating her quilting services.
Tickets are currently on sale $1 each or 6 for $5. Contact any of our guild members, or anywhere the quilt is shown. The winning ticket to be drawn at our 2019 Quilt Show - "Wild Things" on May 11, 2019.
