Each year the Rogue Valley Piecemakers creates an Opportunity Quilt, and offers an "Opportunity" to win it by raffle. All proceeds from raffle tickets are donated to a local non-profit organization to help our community. This year the members voted to benefit two organizations that will share the benefits from these donations. They are the Women's Crisis Center and Joe's Place.
This quilt is our version of the "Piecemakers: Times and Seasons Calendar Quilt 2002". Seventeen members spent 640 hours using embroidery and silk ribbon techniques on the tree blocks. The background fabrics were custom dyed by two of our members. It took a total of 735 hours to complete. Carol Bryant provided the quilting services and Kathy created the label.
Tickets are currently on sale $1 each or 6 for $5
The Drawing will be held September 18, 2017
UPDATE: The drawing was held September 18 at 9:30 am. We are so lucky to have been given airtime on KAJO 99.7, everybody's favorite radio station, to draw a winner for our Opportunity Quilt.
The lucky winner this year is our own Charlie Cammerer! He was so surprised and very happy to win. Congrats, Charlie!
